The darkness crept in like a thief, stealing away the last remnants of night air. It was just another typical Friday evening for Dr. Emma Taylor, the last patient of the night shift at Ravenswood General Hospital. Her eyes scanned the deserted corridors, taking stock of the empty rooms and the faint hum of the fluorescent lights overhead.
As she made her rounds, a sense of unease settled in the pit of her stomach. It was a feeling she'd grown all too familiar with lately. Something was off, but she couldn't quite put her finger on it. The only clue was a small note tucked into the bedside drawer of room 314: "They're watching you".
Emma's skin prickled with goosebumps as she wondered who could have left it there. Was it a prank gone wrong, or something more sinister? She pushed the thought aside and continued her rounds, but the feeling lingered, like a shadow in the corner of her mind. Something was waiting for her, just beyond the edge of town. And when it did, she'd be ready to face the darkness head-on.
